Abstract: Based on the study of planetary differential roller screw, a planetary differential micro-displacement mechanism is designed for tool compensation. Axial stiffness is an important factor of over-all properties of planetary roller screw. The structure of planetary differential roller screw is similar to planetary roller screw. The axial stiffness was analyzed with Hertz contact theory and confirmed with the ANSYS. Finally, the theoretical values and simulation values were compared to verify the simplified model, and the error was analyzed. The results show that the relative error between simulation values and theoretical values are less than 5%. Therefore, the simplified model of the finite element is reasonable.

Abstract: A blanking method which can punch the sheet metal without burr is presented, this method is divided into two stages: preloading deformation and blanking. And the FEM software DEFORM-2D is used to simulate the blanking process of burr-free of stainless steel AISI304. By changing the size of relative clearance, analyzing the quality of cross-section and blanking process. The result shows that the clearance has an effect on blanking force and the length of shear zone. which provides the certain fundamental for predicting the defects of blanking pieces and designing the molds. And this method has an important application value in manufacturing engineering.

Abstract: Because of the rotate kinematics, the machining of 5-axis brings up the non-linear error. The RTCP (Rotation Tool Center Point) function can always make the interpolated point on the programming track by a real-time linear compensation of CNC system for motion of the rotary axes. Based on detailed analysis of the kinematics principle of 5-axis machine with dual rotary tables, a new design of interpolated algorithm integrated with RTCP function is presented which is simulated in MATLAB, and the result indicates that the algorithm can reduce the non-linear error effectively.

Abstract: A forming model of the feed-direction burr for drilling process is made in this paper. The feed-direction burr formation is studied by experiment. The related theories are analyzed. The influence factors of the feed-direction burrs are pointed out. Furthermore, a certain number of measures to prevent and decrease the burr in drilling process are advanced.

Abstract: With the development of machine manufacture science and technology toward precise, quality evaluation of precision parts has put forward higher request. Problems are pointed out in this paper based on comparison and analysis of burr standard at home and abroad. This study suggests the viewpoint of edge quality of precision parts and provides the fundamentals for enhancing edge (burr) quality according to items such as economic cost, technology level, manufacture level, personnel technological capability and production management level. These have important theoretical value and applied prospects for further enriching and perfecting burr standard, promoting precision machining and automatic machining technology.

Abstract: The formation and existence of burrs is one of the common phenomena in machining. It affects directly machining accuracy and parts quality. Network database system for metal cutting burr is developed using ASP.NET platform. The management of metal cutting burr data, inquiry and prediction of cutting burrs types and sizes, optimization of cutting conditions for controlling burr forming which based on the reasoning method of BP neural networks are realized. The development and realization of network database of metal cutting burr provide a convenient way for data transmission between multi-workshop and across regions, promote the development of burr controlling technology and modern manufacture technology.

Abstract: Grind-hardening was done on 65Mn steel with a conventional surface grinder and a corundum-grinding wheel. Research was conducted to probe into microstructures and properties of the hardened layer under varied depth of cut and cooling conditions. Results show that the hardened layer does not change noticeably in their martensitic structures and micro-hardness, which is ranged between 810-870HV. When the depth of cut increases or the dry grinding technique is adopted, the hardened layer becomes thicker accordingly. Under the condition of dry grinding with the depth of cut 1.0mm, the hardened layer depth reaches 2.0mm. It can find applications in grinding and metal surface modification field.
