Abstract: From the angle of function design, based on the theory of FBS, this paper put forward a product innovation design method based on the model of FM-FBS, combined with the analysis process of function migrating. After systematically analyzing the mapping unit and the situation of calling knowledge resources, a process of product innovation design based on this model was proposed. Finally, an example of the nailing machine was taken to prove the validity and practicability of the method.

Abstract: Product conceptual design is the most significant process during product design and manufacture. As the headstream of conceptual design, the recognition, classification and restructuring of product innovation opportunity play a decisive role in the subsequent design and manufacture. Based on AHP method and kano model, this paper made an organization, classification and restructuring of product innovation opportunity to realize the multi-opportunity conceptual design. The electric water heater was taken as an example to testify the feasibility of the method.

Abstract: Analogical reasoning is a common way to produce design concept, but there are less researches of design thinking based on the analogical reasoning. This paper constructesd a kind of design thinking schema based on the analogical reasoning (DTSBAR), pointing out the general flow of the thinking mode, with discussing the general characteristics of analogy mapping and analogy inference reasoning process. The design process of portable pencil sharpener proved effectiveness of this design thinking patterns. The research would be helpful to understand the designer's design thinking rules, and to promote the production of design innovation.

Abstract: The conceptual design model for mechanical product and its computer aided design are the important and focus problems. A mechanical product design process of FPBS model, function-principle-behavior-structure model, was put forward and discussed. The semantic relationships between the elements of FPBS model were studied to make foundation for the application of FPBS model. The operational demand of knowledge system for FPBS model was analyzed, and indicates the ontology can be applied effectively to knowledge system operation of FPBS model. Then, an ontology based FPBS model was established and a FPBS ontology model system was constructed. The experimental results indicate the model can be used in computer aided conceptual design for mechanical product effectively.

Abstract: Abstract. In the process of electromechanical products innovative design, a lot of domain knowledge is involved. Present method of knowledge classification and organization based on subjects has limited its integrated use. Thereby, a new method based on functional attributes of knowledge is proposed in this paper. Principles of clustering based on the characteristics of domain knowledge are also put forward. At last, sub-modules are further detailed and a tree of domain knowledge is formed. This method is conducive to knowledge reuse, update and retrieval, and lay a good foundation for the establishment of a database.

Abstract: The current developed computer aided innovation software is mainly based on universal principle, and it is difficult in providing field knowledge support for the industry and product design. This paper is based on FBS model, systematically discusses the constructing principle of domain knowledge base from the aspect of knowledge acquisition, representation and retrieval. Finally, through an example of the improvement of the cylinder control, which prove the practicability of the Domain Knowledge Base.

Abstract: TRIZ theory is employed to design an automatic picking hook device on the dumper unloading line in thermal power plant. First and foremost, engineering parameters is listed to establish TRIZ model of practical problem, then relevant solving inventive principles is found by using conflict matrix, finally an innovative design is made and an automatic picking hook device is being initially proposed in this issue. This device can reduce not only the online failure rate, but also the labor intensity and operation difficulty.

Abstract: Patent which as a carrier of knowledge contains abundant information, is an important resource of supporting innovative design. Based on the analysis and organization of the patent information of mechanical and electrical fields, this article proposes a proprietary database system for product design innovation. Through a combination of TRIZ and FBS solution process, it can provide support in the product design stage. Finally, an example of folding bike design is listed to explain the application of the patent knowledge base.

Abstract: This paper aims to develop an effective and widely applicable creative design method. First, the relationships of integration between systematic inventive thinking (SIT) and theory of constraints (TOC) were analyzed. According to the analysis, a new model of SIT based on TOC was constructed. Next, the detailed creative design steps of this method were explained and a strategy to upgrade an old system or develop new systems based on an existing one was proposed in terms of this creative method. Then, an example was demonstrated to validate the method. This proposed creative design method is different from conventional approaches, which uses the elements in the design environment, and introduction of new element is avoided.

Abstract: Electroless plating technology used to alleviate fretting damage of titanium alloy was studied, Ni-Tl-B coatings were prepared, process optimization was worked out by the orthogonal table, deposition rate and solution consumption per hour and the initial friction coefficient and the bearing cycles under a low friction coefficient were chose as the index to calculate the range according to the economical efficiency and the application of coating under the surface morphology analysis and the fretting friction coefficient test, optimum process was finally worked out. Surface morphology was analyzed by TM-1000 scanning electron microscope and the fretting friction coefficient was tested by the DELTALAB-NENE fretting wear tester. The results shows that the surface morphology of the Ni-Tl-B coating are all typical cell structure which will be slightly different when the process changes and the optimum Ni-Tl-B coating has outstanding fretting damage resistance.
