Abstract: In order to meet the lightweight design requirements of one swing-type plate shears, the topology optimization method is applied to improve the structure of bed. According to the analysis of the actual working conditions, the reasonable load and boundary conditions are determined. The conceptual model of bed structure is established by using topology optimization method. Lightweight improvement scheme is proposed based on the topology optimization results, and the rationality of scheme is verified by test and analysis. Different parts of the bed are thickened or thinned, and the influences of different thickness of the stiffener on the maximum principal stress, total displacement, displacement in Y direction and weight of bed structure model are analyzed. A reasonable lightweight scheme of shear machine bed is proposed. The weight of the bed is reduced and the lightweight purpose is finally achieved in the case of meeting the requirements of shearing accuracy.

Abstract: The manufacture equipment is the key technology in using crop stalks for making biomass fuel which is an effective means of solving the current stalk misconduct processing, improving energy efficiency and preserving the ecological environment. A structure of the molding equipment which is capable of making crop stalks into biomass fuel is designed and orthogonal tested. The hydraulic system and electrical control system of the equipment are also designed. Simulation test of the hydraulic system and programming of the control circuit are implemented. The analyses of the each designed systems of the modeling equipment indicated that the main motor is reasonably chosen, the hydraulic system can meet the design requirements, and the electrical control circuit is capable of being conveniently and efficiently controlled.

Abstract: The basic mathematical model of topology optimization of continuum structures is introduced at first. Then the authors focus on reviewing the development of PDE methods and optimization algorithms. This paper details the development and applications of Finite Element Method, Boundary Element Method and Finite Volume Method. This paper also illustrates several typical applications and achievements of optimization algorithms, such as Optimality Criteria method, mathematical programming method and intelligent algorithm. Based on our research, this paper finally summarizes the process of the structural topology optimization and describes the directions of the topology optimization in the field of mechanical digital design.

Abstract: The paper is concerned with topology optimization in the mechanical design process. The disadvantage of current process of mechanical design is discussed and a new design process based on structural topology optimization is presented. The design process with structural topology optimization in mechanical design is discussed by the example of the frame of a bender. Static analysis is made to the original model first according to the whole structure and working characteristic of the machine, the stress and deformation distribution are obtained and then topology optimization is carried out. On the basis of topology optimization, the layout of the initial design proposal is obtained and the weight of the frame is substantially reduced while the performance enhanced. The application of the method demonstrates that through innovative utilization of the topology optimization techniques, the conceptual proposals can be obtained and the overall mechanical design process can be improved substantially in a cost effective manner.

Abstract: Electrochemical machining is a process combined with electrochemical and mechanical actions. It has the advantage of higher efficiency, lower surface roughness, better quality and simpler equipment etc. According to the current development, topology optimization was introduced for the improvement of electrochemical machine tool and applied by the ANSYS software in this paper. Based on the result of the topology optimization, some improvement was done to the electrochemical machine tool. On the basis of the new FE model of the improved machine tool, the modal analysis and static analysis were carried out. By the comparison of the results between the former and latter, the weight of the machine tool is substantially reduced while the stiffness and strength reserved.

Abstract: Structural topology optimization has got a general acceptance in recent years in mechanical design due to its powerful technique for conceptual design. The shortcoming of current development process of mechanical design is discussed and a new approach with structural topology optimization is put forward. The application of the method demonstrates that through innovative utilization of the topology optimization techniques, a multitude of conceptual design proposals based on the design space and design targets can be obtained and then a CAD model with high quality which has a positive impact on the development process is also available.

Abstract: Shock pressure and its absorbing approaches in hydraulic vibration generator for a vehicle body test-bed are discussed in this paper. The principle and characteristics of the hydraulic vibration excitation system are introduced. The main parameters that determine the performance of hydraulic system are calculated and designed. Pressure shocking problem in operation and its absorbing approaches are discussed from theoretical and experimental aspects. An optimal combination of accumulators and common solenoid direction control valve and their parameter configuration and neutral position type selection are obtained in conclusion. Practical usage had approved the feasibility of the design presented in this paper.
