Abstract: The article shows the process of preparing an oxide layer on the surface of titanium for use in industrial catalysis. Data from physical and chemical studies are presented, namely microhardness, porosity, thickness, specific surface area, adhesion and thermal stability of the active layer. To determine the physicochemical characteristics of the resulting oxide layer, the following analysis methods were used: X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), X-ray diffraction phase analysis (XPA), X-ray absorption analysis (XRA), and X-ray fluorescence analysis. The thickness of the oxide layer depending on the duration of anodization was estimated by optical microscopy.

Abstract: Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM) and Opto-Magnetic Spectroscopy (OMS) were used to characterize HTCV stainless steel and aluminum. Both materials were immersed in 1.0M HCl and 1.0M CH3COOH solutions for two hours. From the OMS method it was discovered that treated materials showed differences in peak wavelengths. Topographical and magnetic features for steel plate samples showed better resistance to an aggressive medium compared to aluminum. The results and analysis of these investigations are compared and presented in this paper.

Abstract: GST is an alloy composed by Ge, Sb, Te whose importance is increasing more and more in semiconductors manufacturing due to its usage in Phase Change Memories (PCM) architecture, as a charge storage element. As a consequence its integration in PCM architectures requires a deeper understanding of the effect that commonly used wet cleanings may have on the surface of the alloy.
