Abstract: Waste disposal in remote areas is a hurdle due to lack of active dumping space. Besides, improper dumping of waste on empty land can have a detrimental impact on the environment. Incineration of waste using thermal incineration (using a solar concentrator) can be utilized for mobile incineration devices to dispose of hazardous waste effectively with a limited space. The design and mobility of the solar dish for this purpose is one of the most important considerations. The modeling of the solar dish was performed on SOLIDWORKS® with APEX® for optical simulation. The simulation results showed a linear variation of flux coating to enable a more comprehensive cost benefit analysis for the design. The simulation was also used to check whether the required flux at focus (to achieve ignition) was achieved. Further work is required to validate the results.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate and optimize the process parameters for cleaning the top, bottom, and apex edges of silicon wafers using laser radiation and reactive gas. A secondary purpose is to conduct photoresist edge bead and post-etch polymer film removal (EBR) experiments to determine the minimum controllable edge exclusion in EBR processing to improve die yield. [ An overall purpose is to identify a robust and environmentally sound process for wafer edge cleaning and a hardware configuration (stand alone or track integrated) that can be cost effectively produced for device manufacturing.

Abstract: Experiments were conducted on thin delta wings to investigate, for subsonic flow, the effect of both privileged apex angle values and the wing-fuselage interactions on the aerodynamic characteristics, i.e. the distribution of the defect pressure on the extrados, the drag and the lift coefficients. For this purpose, several delta wing models of various apex angle (β = 75, 80 and 85°) were realized and tested without and with fuselages of cylindrical form, with diameters of 20 and 30 mm, downstream the apex and appropriately disposed on the extrados. The impact of the apex angle as well as the interaction on the defect pressure were specially considered along the apex vortices where the pressure defect is usually maximum. The above mentioned effects were investigated via the variations of the mean velocity in the wind tunnel and the incidence (attack) angle.
