Abstract: Assessment index system for safety capability of mine team leaders is established to assess their safety capability accurately, after defining its concept. The system is comprised of two layers, with 5 indexes in the first-layer and 14 indexes in the second-layer. Furthermore, the relative weights of indexes are determined by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The grey relational assessment model for safety capability of mine team leader is constructed based on the indexes system. The safety capability of 4 mine team leaders are assessed by the model, according to the sequences in their safety capabilities. Assessment for safety capability based on AHP and GRA could be a tool for evaluation and decision-making in mining enterprises.

Abstract: Index and methods for assessment is a foundation of precise qualitative and quantitative analysis for ecosystem damage caused by oil spill in ocean. The connotation of ecosystem damage assessment of oil spill in ocean is put forward based on marine ecosystem service value theory and damage mechanism and feature of oil spill. Using frequency analysis and expert advice method, assessment index system is set up, which contain seven indexes of fishery resources supply, gas regulation, waste disposal, disaster defense, entertainment, biodiversity conservation and ecological restoration.

Abstract: To protect natural resources and biodiversity, nature reserves have been established worldwide. However, the inadequate management is becoming a widespread problem in the development of nature reserves. Therefore, assessing management effectiveness of nature reserve is not only one of the important means to improve and promote the sustainable management level of nature reserve, but also a hotspot in recent research of biodiversity conservation. But until now, there isnt a quantitative assessment approach accepted widely. According to literature survey and the Delphi method, this study set up an index system, including (A) management behavior, (B) protective effect and (C) social influence. Based on this, Huhe nature reserve was selected to verify the applicability of this index system. The results showed that various problems and prioritization of nature reserve management could be identified effectively using this index system, which offers policy makers a tool for a rapid assessment of management effectiveness. In addition, this study will provide a theoretical basis and practical guidance for nature reserve management in China.

Abstract: This paper discusses the ageing features of SBS modified asphalt and its assessment index. The performances for both host asphalt and modified asphalt after different RTFOT ageing times was tested and micro analysis was conducted with infrared spectrum. The quantitative analysis for the micro-changes of ageing process was carried out according to Lambert Beer law. The research results show that the longer the ageing time, the smaller the penetration and ductility of asphalt are, and the greater the softening point and viscosity. In comparison with the host asphalt, the absorption peak of SBS modified asphalt in stretching vibration (C=C) at 1600cm-1, the absorption peaks of polybutadiene in bending vibration at 966cm-1 and 911cm-1 , and the absorption peak of styrene in bending vibration at 697cm-1 are from SBS modifier. The oxygen reaction happens in ageing process of asphalt, producing carboxyl and subsulfoxide. Affected by the higher activity of SBS modifier, SBS modified asphalt can be easily oxidized. There is good correlation between its penetration, softening point, ductility with carboxyl and subsulfoxide , so the above three indexes can be adopted to assess the ageing of SBS modified asphalt.

Abstract: Based on observation of characteristics of NAI concentration of part of an office-building in Shenzhen, air quality of different equipments for cooling were assessed using ion polarity ratio (q) and air ion assessment index (CI). The result show that the air cleanness degree of the natural ventilation indoor is better than mechanical ventilation, using renewable energy for cooling is better than normal air-conditioning, and placed the negative ion generator has improved indoor air quality significantly. So the authors suggest to take NAI concentration as a monitoring and assessment indicators of the indoor environment, so as to provide a scientific basis and design concept for energy planning and environmental protection in the future.

Abstract: Taxus chinensis var. maire is an important medicinal, ecological and environmental friendly plant. To propose calculation methods of three-dimensional ecological benefit assessment index of Taxus chinensis var. maire, 10 main indicators of 90 Taxus chinensis var. maire at the age of 10 to 15 were measured and calculated, including heights of trees and crowns, diameter of crowns and roots, largest vertical section area of crowns, numbers of branches and leaves, length, width and area of leaves, based on consideration of situations such as altitude, coordinates, solar radiation, mean annual sunshine hours, rainfall and temperature, days with 4 or more than 4 power wind, frost-free period, etc. Ecological benefits of Taxus chinensis var. maire were analyzed using two-and three-dimensional models based on the research of three-dimensional vegetation volume, and the main results were analyzed and summarized. This will provide a scientific assessment standard for exploitation and territory plantation of Taxus chinensis var. maire.
