Abstract: An intelligent self-locking system of clutch which uses MC9S12XS128MAL as the main microcontroller was designed in this research. The system detects whether the door is completely closed or not by the position switch installed in the door rail to achieve control of the clutch pedal. When the door of bus is not completely closed, the driver cannot push down the clutch pedal to drive the bus. Doing that can we achieve automotive driver assistance and further improve driving safety. This paper also discusses the design of the system’s hardware circuitry and procedures.

Abstract: Facing a great deal of materials and data in the process of design and manufacturing of clutch product, Quick and accurate knowledge extraction from the literature resources and web pages is a key to the design of vehicle clutch. The motheds of automatic knowledge acquisition based on literature and XML pages were proposed as well as specific algorithms and processes of knowledge extraction from documents and web pages were constructed.Techniques of knowledge element extraction, agent and ontology were applied to the intelligent type selection system.Practice tells that this intelligent type selection system can better assist intelligent type selection and design of vehicle clutch and knowledge management

Abstract: The transient time of the clutch disengagement is of key importance, as far as controlling performance of clutch screw presses is concerned. Therefore the hydraulic unloading of the clutch for a screw press has been analyzed, by which three schemes of poppets were compared based on calculation and simulation. Thereafter we found it is the widely used mode of ‘pilot-main poppet valve’ that had much advantage. At the same time the paper can provide an analysis method and be as the instantiation references for the design of such systems.

Abstract: In this paper, we designed a prototype of powered above-knee prosthesis. Compared with other prototypes available in the literature, our designed prosthetic leg employs a redundant actuator concept to overcome the challenge faced by the single-motor transmission systems. The redundant actuator also enables the prosthesis to be partially functional when the prosthesis loses power. Finally, in order to provide optimal control parameters for designed above-knee prosthesis to perform a smooth level-ground walking task, an inverse dynamic model based on Kane’s method is constructed.

Abstract: Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) is a new automatic transmission system, which overcomes the shortcomings of power break when shift of the automatic mechanical transmission (AMT) and not only inherit high transmission efficiency and simple structure of AMT, but also inherit small impact of hydraulic, non-power interruption characteristics of automatic transmission (AT). The core and difficulty is the clutch control in the start process, the control targets are not only to ensure the smoothness of the start process and stable operation of the engine, but also to ensure quickness[1].

Abstract: Based on the vehicle dynamic equation in starting engine in-motion process for HEV, theoretical derivation is conducted to obtain the impact hardness equation in the process. By using matlab/simulink, the law of influence the parameters have on the impact hardness equation is analyzed. Then, coordinated control stategy between the clutch pressure and motor torque, and between motor torque and engine torque is proposed based on the influence law. At last a test bed of the starting engine in-motion for HEV is implemented. The test results show that the change rate of clutch pressure, motor torque and engine torque, can effectively coordinate the change relation between the clutch pressure, the motor torque, and the engine torque. And the test results satisfy the requirements of ride comfort in starting engine in-motion process for HEV well.

Abstract: Under the condition of grease lubrication, the skewed-roller slipping clutch was experimentally studied. The experimental bench was built up and the influences of geometrical parameters and operation conditions on torque ripple and temperature rising were clarified by the experiment, which laid the foundation for practical application of the skewed-roller slipping clutch in grease lubrication.

Abstract: Thermoelastic instability of multi-disc clutch contributes to the failure of power transmission and as such multi-disc clutch is considered as a research object with a theory model built on perturbation method. The characteristic equations on the thermoelastic instability of geometrically symmetrical and antisymmetrical steel-disc are derived. The results are shown that both wave number and disc thickness have significant influences on the thermoelastic instability of the steel-disc. Choosing a larger wave number or a thicker steel-disc can prevent the thermoelastatic instability state in multi-disc clutch. Compared with the geometrically symmetrical steel-disc,the geometrically antisymmetrical steel-disc is more susceptible to thermoelastic instability.
