Abstract: This Lauric acid is the most abundant fat in coconut oil, which can undergo an esterification and trans-esterification reactions to form methyl laurate. The aim of this study was to characterize the results obtained from lauric acid esterification and tran-esterification VCO enzymatic produce methyl esters with a distinctive odor ester. VCO enzymatic_methanol esterification (9: 1) with phosphoric acid catalyst and tran-esterification results esterification_methanol (1: 3) with KOH catalyst with varies time were 0.5; 1; 1.5; and 2 hours with the percentage obtained FAME row is 73.97; 78.09; 91.75; and 89.83%. Characterizations of methyl laurate were (1) density: 857.97; 857.97; 859.90; and 860.00 kg/m3, (2) % FFA: 0.16; 0.12; 0.09; 0.07% and acid value: 0.44; 0.32; 0.24; 0.14 mg-KOH/g sample. (3) Functional groups showed similarities value with the methyl laurate standard by the FT-IR spectrophotometer, the presence of ester compounds such as C = O; C-O; C-H; CH3; and RCOOR.

Abstract: In this research, cotton fabrics were colored with a pigment suspension, and then treated with an acid cellulase to investigate the influences of pre-existing pigment on cellulase action. It was found that the pigment on cotton surface could increase the affinity between cotton and cellulase protein due to the mutual attraction between pigment molecule and non-polar residues in the enzyme. However, it was observed that the existing pigment would suppress enzymatic activity by testing the soluble reducing sugars liberated during the treatment. The main reason is that the pigment could reduce the accessibility of cellulase protein to the cotton molecular chains by steric hindrance.

Abstract: This paper studied the enzymatic hydrolysis process for porcine serum polypeptide from porcine blood. And the optimum enzymatic hydrolysis conditions were as follows: enzyme concentration was 1190u/g, pH was 9.0, temperature was 50°C, time was5.3h. the relative DH was 21.26% under above conditions, It not only solve the environmental problems of livestock and poultry processing industry but also opened up new channels and new areas for functional food’s research, it had good social and economic benefits.

Abstract: Microfibrillated cellulose (short for MFC) has rapidly advanced due to its unique nano-order-unit web-like network structure and such special properties as extremely high strength, large specific surface area and high aspect ratio. In the present paper, the processing technology and the research progress of the preparation methods of MFC with mechanical and it combined with enzymatic treatment are briefly reviewed, then the four main challenges about preparation of MFC are figured out. In the last section, the direction of this research field is also highlighted.

Abstract: In this study, an anodized TiO2 electrode (ATE) on a titanium foil was prepared and used as a photoanode in an enzymatic photoelectrochemical system to split water into oxygen and hydrogen. The effect of applied voltage when anodized, thickness of foil, electrolytes, annealing temperature, and species of cathode was investigated. The optimum conditions were obtained such as 0.25 mm foil thickness, 20V of applied voltage in 0.5 vol% of hydrofluoric acid, and 650 oC of annealing temperature. The samples with higher activities had similar X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, clearly indicating that the samples showing the highest evolution rate were composed of both anatase and rutile, while those showing a lower evolution rate were made of either anatase or rutile. Increasing the intensity of the irradiated light caused a remarkable enhancement in the rate of hydrogen production up to 153 μmol/(hr×cm2) under light intensity of 146 mW/cm2.
