Abstract: Measurement strategies for testing fuel tank corrosion using the ultrasonic Phased Array technology, these have been developed by companies producing ultrasonic measuring instruments, are only applied when performing manual measurement. Therefore, the applying of these measurement strategies for self-propelled robot carrying ultrasonic transducers to automate the testing process have not met the demand. This article presents the results of a study to develop a measurement strategy for testing fuel tank corrosion based on the specification of the self-propelled robot, the ability to build a corrosion map from collected image data by robot. Experimental results show that, with the three proposed measurement strategies using robot, the measurement strategy for moving the robot from bottom to top up will have the shortest testing time, image data are next and data coupling to build a corrosion map is easy. In addition, the process of building a corrosion map can be automatically performed on the computer, making the assessment process more convenient, accurate and faster.

Abstract: Aluminum-Copper-Lithium alloys are used as substitute for conventional aerospace Al alloys in cryogenic tank of liquid rocket engines, aircraft wing box and satellite systems due to their high specific modulus and specific strength. For this reason they are currently under consideration for one of the potential choices for a large structure of Korea Space Launch Vehicle. In this study, friction stir welding and electron beam welding were conducted on AA2195 sheets, in butt joint configuration in order to compare the two processes and to evaluate mechanical properties. The results provide valuable information for the optimal condition of joining AA2195 sheets for a large tankage structure of the space launcher.

Abstract: This article discusses the aircraft fuel tank flammability. Firstly, Given the qualitative analysis of aircraft fuel tank flammability, Based on this, Detailed discussion of the quantitative analysis method based on the Monte Carlo method of aircraft fuel tank, and verified through the instance. The results show that the analysis can determine the main factors affecting fuel tank flammability and fuel tank flammable levels of exposure. And have engineering application value on aircraft fuel tank safety.

Abstract: After this tragic accident of Colombia's shuttle the continuance of these spatial functions were encountered with ambiguity and lots of suspicion was formed in the NASA officer's brain. The burst was formed because of the defect which was made in the outer insulator fuel tank, a insignificant piece of insulator that was separated while throwing the Colombia's shuttle from the fuel tank under the aerodynamical force of throw (while separating the tank from the shuttle) and it hurts the ledge of the left wing of the shuttle in the place of ceramics insulator defect and shuttle's thermal safety system. It was happened in throwing the shuttle discovery too, however they relief the damaged parts through a spatial marcher in the space and they turn it to the earth with so much presentiment. In this essay we present a new design for the fuel tank and shuttle. In this model, shuttle is set on the top of the fuel tank and while separating the tank from the shuttle, the probable separating pieces, wouldn't be defect to the shuttle. In this procedure because the tank has a motor, a cart landing and a control system, it is again useful and would make the economy in the charges. In this Method by putting shuttle on top of the tank, it may not make any hurt to the thermal shield and there weren't any accident accession like the Colombia's shuttle accident and There wouldn't be any requirement to design a new space crafts with the passenger to go and return, and according the heavy costs of the researches, temptation and long time providence it would be much and According to probability of returning the fuel tank to the earth, in other throwing there would be multiple providence that can be a justification for this project And also Changing the tank place improves the aerodynamical coefficient in comparison present shuttle's picture that will cause to reduce using the fuel.

Abstract: Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS/JAXA) in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has developed fuel and gas tanks for reaction control system and orbital control system of satellites; A tank is fabricated through welding of two thin, hemi-spherical or conical parts, which are fabricated by superplastic blow forming. Mass-productivity is not an important factor but the forming precision and flexibiliry in the process are important for this application. ISAS and MHI, therefore, developed a new blow-forming technique, which has high flexibility in terms of tank size because it requires a furnace but not a hot-press machine. Some typical propulsion tanks fabricated through this process are presented.
