Abstract: In the paper, a cloud computing based intelligent scheduling system for manufacturing quality is proposed. Most of scheduling system is only considered producing time but manufacturing quality. It is very important to focus on manufacturing quality for the industry upgrade. The factors of manufacturing quality are product, equipment, material and human. It makes higher cost for scheduling the flexible manufacturing system. So we develop the cloud computing-based intelligent scheduling system by using artificial neural network and optimized layout method for manufacturing quality in the research. The architecture of the intelligent scheduling system contains: (1) Cloud database structure. (2) Intelligent scheduling engine. (3) Real-time human-machine interface. SQL Azure is used as the cloud database for scattering and storing data. And the intelligent scheduling engine contains the intelligent sequence score system of the products, the optimized layout system and the monitoring system of available resources. By using Visual C#, we can program a human-machine interface with real-time data updating. So that we can see real-time scheduling states of manufacturing by the human-machine interface at any time everywhere. We get good performance from the results of the experiment in the intelligent scheduling system considering manufacturing quality. It is important to develop a cloud computing-based intelligent scheduling system for manufacturing quality because of the advantages of production fluency, low cost, just good quality and flexible management.

Abstract: Combining the present condition of HS-WEDM technology, paper puts forward four projects to optimize machine, which involves optimization of the main body of machine, improvement of workpiece process, making better control system and updating additional function. It also analyses all kinds of technical parameters in detail to improve the working specifications. The result shows that the application of HS-WEDM can narrow the gap with developed countries of WEDM and satisfy the market demand.

Abstract: Based on the fusion method for the true value estimation under the condition of poor information, the experiment is conducted in this paper. The results of simulation of the uniform distribution and experimental investigation on the manufacturing quality evaluation for the tapered roller bearing indicate that the fusion method allows the number of the data little and the distribution unknown, having the reliable estimated result.

Abstract: Poor information means incomplete and insufficient information, such as small sample and unknown distribution. For point estimation under the condition of poor information, the statistical methods relied on large samples and known distributions may become ineffective. For this end, a fusion method is proposed. The fusion method develops five methods, three concepts, and one rule. The five methods include the rolling mean method, the membership function method, the maximum membership grade method, the moving bootstrap method, and the arithmetic mean method. The three concepts comprise the solution set on the estimated true value, the fusion series, and the final estimated true value. The rule is the range rule. The method proposed can supply a foundation for the true value estimation of manufacturing quality under the condition of poor information.

Abstract: Soundness of wind turbine blade plays paramount role in supplying cheap and reliable wind energy. To ensure that blades are sound and free from inherent manufacturing defects, easy and reliable quality evaluation before delivering blades for installation is crucial. We propose an ultrasonic amplitude imaging method based on Ultrasonic Propagation Imaging (UPI) system for this purpose. The system utilizes a scanning Q-switched continuous wave laser as ultrasonic wave generator. Various acousto-ultrasonic sensors, either contact or non-contact type, could be adopted as ultrasonic receiver. The system was tested on a blade section made of glass fiber reinforced plastic sandwiched with balsa wood. The leading edge of the specimen with a kissing disbond was inspected. A PZT-based sensor attached temporarily on the outer surface of a blade was used for ultrasonic reception to demonstrate that this imaging method is applicable even for the blades without integrated sensor. The amplitude map clearly showed the disbond defect with the kissing features. The location, shape, and size of the defect evaluated from the result agree excellently with the actual defect. The result proved that the proposed method works well for the quality evaluation of wind turbine blades. Inheriting the advantages of UPI technology, i.e. focusing-free characteristics, acceptance of large laser incident angle up to 60°, and rapid scanning without needing an expensive scan gantry, this system is suitable for automatic quality evaluation of blades with different geometry. On top of that, this system does not require any reference data, making it a flexible quality evaluation system suitable for different methods of blade production flow.

Abstract: Study on the effect of the surface manufacturing quality (roughness) to the friction between the surfaces. Based on the plastic theory of mechanism-based strain gradient (MSG) of the micro-plastic-mechanics and the contact theory, the theoretical model of the coefficient of friction between the rough surfaces and the non-linear finite element model between the grinding samples were established. Moreover, the surface stress distribution and the coefficient of friction were obtained through the sub-structure finite element method. The established model of static friction theoretical model and the accuracy of the finite element model were verified through comparing with the result of the static friction experiments between the grinding samples with different surface manufacturing quality. The study in the paper is important to the study on the surface friction mechanism.
