Abstract: For the problem of generating oval gear tooth profile and driving characteristic, desgin the tooth profile of oval gear by the conversion method of tooth profile, and get its three-dimensional modal by Pro/E. The transmission characteristics of a pair of ovate gear are researched; it would help to further study wire cutting of the oval gear based on the involute profile ,which got by the conversion of method of tooth profile, and the driving characteristic help to study other characteristics of oval gear as well as the application in the machinery.

Abstract: The characteristics of oval gear is analyzed. The parameters of oval gear are chosen and calculated. The three-dimensional solid modeling of oval gear is achieved. The dynamic model of oval gear is established by FEM and modal analysis of oval gear is investigated. The natural frequency and major modes of the first six orders are clarified. The method and the result facilitate the dynamic design and dynamic response analysis of oval gear.

Abstract: Kinematic characteristics of Hoeken mechanism is analyzed. Variable ratio transmission characteristics of oval gear is obtained. Oval geared Hoeken mechanism is presented. Kinematic characteristics of oval geared Hoeken mechanism is clarified. Eccentricity is optimized. The oval geared Hoeken mechanism with approximate uniform rectilinear motion is designed. The methods in this paper facilitate the innovation design of the mechanism with approximate uniform rectilinear motion.

Abstract: Based on the function of Chooks in MasterCAM, the section of a oval gear is generated. An oval gear 3D Model is established using the section in UG, then a pair of assembling oval gear in UG is imported into ADAMS, motion simulation results are validated and compared with the theoretical value. The results indicate that the profile conversion method can meet the design requirements in certain conditions of transmission accuracy, and effect of eccentricity to the transmission of oval gears is summarized.

Abstract: Aiming at the complex design and analysis methods of noncircular bevel gear, combining the gear space engagement theory and the generating method of tooth profile, the profile generating process was seen as the pure rolling between the pitch line of virtual processing tool and pitch curve of oval bevel gear based on the virtual generating method. The blank parameters and relation equation between tool parameters and procedure parameters of generating method were deduced. General parametric solid models of oval bevel gear were founded. Based on experimental result of oval bevel gear transmission, the design profile of oval bevel gear which was obtained according to generating method was verified.
