Abstract: In present society, port container transportation is a basic need for the costal country. The quayside container crane plays a vital role in port transportation field. Taking 80t quayside container crane as the subject, the three-dimensional model of crane steel structure with plates was established;the element analysis by means of Workbench and multi-measuring points stress test of quayside container crane steel structure was carried out. The simulationresults werecompared with test results to prove the correctness of the model. On the basis, the strength, rigidity and fatigue property of the crane was analyzed. Finally, some design and manufacture suggestions about craneswere given.

Abstract: With the port cargo throughput increasing, the number of lifting transport equipment and working hours increased. Accompanied by the rapid increase of energy consumption, energy-saving research of lifting equipment is imminent. There have designed a new type of highly efficient energy-saving power generation scheme of quayside container crane. Use ADAMS to simulate the kinematics, and combined with MATLAB to optimize and determine the final control factor.

Abstract: In this paper, FEM modal analysis and experimental modal analysis methods were used to investigate the modal performance of the metal structure of a quayside container crane. The analysis results indicated that the relative error of both methods was reasonable small, and that most inherent vibrations of this crane were in the horizontal plane. The influence of vibrations caused by mass eccentricity of container and wind loads should not be ignored. The present results can provide a reference for solving similar problems in the future.

Abstract: Fiber Bragg grating and resistance strain gauge have been used to test the stress change in key parts of structure of 61t-55m quayside container crane under the same testing conditions. The testing data and stress-time history diagrams obtained by the resistance strain gauge and fiber Bragg grating have been analyzed. The results verify good real-time property and high reliability of the structural health monitoring system based on fiber Bragg grating system.

Abstract: The heavy quayside container crane is the key equipment of handling production in container terminal, because the general simulation system can not provide the detail information of the single crane unit during working process, this work proposed a novel method to visualize the working process of the crane. Analyzed the basic mechanisms and typical working condition, based on which, discussed the modeling method for working process visualization, and then gave the internal structure of 3D crane model. This work designed the control logic to drive the 3D graphic elements of the visualization system, implemented the working process visualization according to the working waiting list of the crane.

Abstract: As port cranes becoming larger, the electricity and other energy they consumed increase significantly. The research on energy saving of port cranes is increasingly hot nowadays. This paper first discusses the latest research activities on the energy saving measures of cranes. Then, taking the quayside container crane as an example, the measuring method for its energy consumption is presented and analyzed. Finally, an energy saving device for port cranes is designed to convert the motor’s no useful working energy into electricity for lighting. The design, structures and working process of this device are described in detail.

Abstract: As to the problem that the assembly cycle and costs of quayside container crane always exceeds 40% of the entire production cycle and costs, improving the assembly efficiency becomes an important link to enhance the competence of port machinery manufacturing enterprises. In the product assembling cycle, virtual assembly can help to improve assembly quality and reduce the cost. Based on the physical structure of 45t quayside container crane, 3D components model were developed, the assembly hierarchy and modeling process were provided. The simulation analysis of assembly sequence was taken based on the CATIA DMU platform and virtual assembly animation was generated. The assembly interference detection results were analyzed to verify the part assembling ability, the whole disassembly and assembly process was displayed, which can help the assembly workers making visual analysis of fitting operation rationality.

Abstract: The paper is based on nominal stress method and MSC.FATIGUE software, adopts virtual fatigue design method, take cart balance beam of quayside container crane as an example, build its finite element model, conduct strength analysis on the balance beam and fatigue analysis under specified load course by MSC.Fatigue software, then obtain life distributions which can provide the basis of nichetargeting improvement and fatigue research in design stage. Through above analysis, it has been proved the feasibility of the method that the paper adopted, and it can greatly reduce the expense that the fatigue life testing brings about.

Abstract: Analysis of real-time measuring data of stress points layouted on the quayside container crane, a new technology of real-time fatigue life estimation for quayside container crane is presented in this paper based on the study of feature of crane’s structure and theories of fatigue danmage. This technology can real-time estimate quayside container crane’s total fatigue life and remaining life at any moment in whole process from it put into use to the last scrap stage,the estimation is more credible and more accurate, and it provides a basis for structure maintenance, strengthening and rehabilitation.Compared with traditional structural fatigue life estimation, this new technology reduces downtime, creates greater economic benefits for the enterprise and has great application value.

Abstract: Quayside container crane is a main lifting machinery in the seaports, which plays an important role in the trade contacts and transportation. This paper aims at the present security condition of quayside container crane, discusses the health monitoring problem of quayside container crane and introduces the health monitoring technology based on fiber bragg grating sensor, providing theoretical foundation for improving security condition of crane.
