Abstract: The collision of standing passenger with floor is solved during rail vehicle emergency braking. The fall is serious type of passenger accident. For this purpose the model of rail vehicles interiors floor is created. The simulated behavior of passenger impact can predict useful information for experimental validation of floor properties.

Abstract: The emergence and development of CAD technology, and its development and current status of applied research on rail vehicle in our country is introduced. For four key technologies of CAD on digital design direction of rail vehicles, which are integrated, modular, parametric, data management and control, is discussed detailed. What’s more, the direction of rail vehicle design is referred to, which introduces new innovation of TRIZ, universal design and reconfigurable design in theory, changes reverse engineering to top-down design in the design method, realizes the organic combination of modular and integrated in design platform development, and accelerates basic technology research which contains unstructured data processing technology, non-relational database management technology and visualization technology in data management .

Abstract: The curve negotiation ability and lateral stability are the important and contradictory indicators when evaluating the dynamic performance of the rail vehicle. And in order to study the stability of the rail vehicle, its curve negotiation ability will be studied firstly. In this paper, the whole multi-body dynamic model of the rail vehicle was proposed based on the theory of multi-body dynamics in the software of Simpack. And the lateral force, derailment and overturning coefficient of the rail vehicle when it passed through a specific curve track with specific speed. Then the curve negotiation ability of the rail vehicle was estimated accurately.

Abstract: There are higher requirements on running stability of the rail vehicle with the incensement of the running speed. The running stability is one of the important indicators of evaluating the dynamic performance of the rail vehicle. In this paper, the whole multi-body dynamic model of the rail vehicle was proposed based on the theory of multi-body dynamics in the software of Simpack. And the lateral and vertical vibrate accelerations of the rail vehicle were simulated when it was inspired by the track irregularities. Then the running stabilities of the rail vehicle were estimated accurately. This will propose basis on the improving design and optimization design of the whole rail vehicle.

Abstract: Critical speeds are the important indicators when evaluating the dynamic performance of the rail vehicle. In this paper, the whole multi-body dynamic model of the rail vehicle was proposed based on the theory of multi-body dynamics in the software of Simpack. And the linear and nonlinear critical speeds of the whole rail vehicle inspirited by the track spectrum were simulated. This will provide a basis for analyzing on the whole rail vehicle.

Abstract: Aiming at accurate predictions of coupler/daft gear systems' dynamic behaviour. Based on the analysis of structural and kinematic relations of two typical systems, hysteretic nonlinear draft gear models and 9DOF (Degree of freedom) detailed coupler/draft gear system models were developed. Frictional pairs on coupling surfaces and coupler tails along with interactive aligning shoulder models were integrated into system models. Utilizing two detailed locomotive models simulations were performed on a section of special track to validate the rationalities of coupler/draft gear system models. Simulation results indicate that all parts in coupler/draft gear system models can fullfill their roles, and the system models themselves can reproduce the run-time behaviour of coupler/draft gear systems with high reliability and accuracy.

Abstract: We shall discuss the problem of rail vehicle safety studies using simulation methods. The
contemporary methods and criteria used for safety assessment of railway vehicles by railways
Europe are shown, whereas special attention is paid to the criteria and research programs applied to
the vehicle approval procedures in Poland. Taking advantage of these safety criteria and codes of
practice, a number of computer simulations have been conducted in order to study the safety issues.
Presented results of the computer simulations include a rail vehicle running on a tangent and curved
track for different simulation parameters such as: running velocity, load level, condition of wheel
profiles, track irregularities. The track irregularities represent different maintenance quality levels
which are set according to UIC518 code. In this paper there has also been made a comparison
between the results of computer simulation safety assessment studies and the measurements taken
in real conditions during the safety tests of a Shimmns(s) type freight vehicle.
