Abstract: Single crystal of organic material Methyl N- phenylsuccinamate (MPS) has been grown by the slow evaporation technique using methanol as a solvent. The crystal belongs to orthorhombic system with non centrosymmetric space group Pna21. Optical transmittance and second harmonic generation efficiency of the grown crystals have been studied by UV-vis-NIR spectrum and Kurtz powder technique respectively. The transmittance of MPS crystal has been used to calculate the refractive index (n), the extinction coefficient (k) and reflectance (R). The laser induced surface damage threshold for the grown crystal has been measured using Nd:YAG laser. The mechanical behaviour of the MPS crystal has also been analyzed.

Abstract: The plasmonic system consisting of two-dimensional periodic array of silver cylindrical nanoparticles is considered. The light reflection and transmittance, calculated for various frequencies, show the resonance behavior. Excitation of plasmons in the array of nanorods is studied. The resonance electromagnetic modes are strongly localized around the cylinders and local electric field is much enhanced.

Abstract: This experiment was to study the transmittance of 3 all-Ceramic system core materials, including 4 colors of Vita In-ceram Alumina,4 colors of Vita In-Ceram Zirconium and 3 colors of Empress II,and to provide basis for clinical choice of core materials. With Vita alpha veneer porcelain as control, the transmittance of all samples was determined with spectrophotometer under D65 standard source. The transmittance of materials was 1.434%~3.843% for Vita In-Ceram Alumina,0~0.587% for Vita In-Ceram Zirconium,5.620%~6.665% for Empress II.As a whole, the transmittance of Empress IIwas the best of 3 core materials, that of In-Ceram Alumina was the worse, that of Vita In-Ceram Zirconium was the worst.

Abstract: The substrate temperature in depositions of thin films plays a vital role in the characteristics of deposited films. We studied few characteristics of cadmium sulphide thin film deposited at different temperature (150°C-300°C) on corning 7059 glass substrate. We measured transmittance, absorbance, band gap and reflectance via UV spectroscopy. It was found that the transmittance for 300nm to 1100nm was greater than 80%. The resistivity and mobility was calculated by Vander Pauw method which were 10-80 cm and 2-60 cm2V-1S-1 respectively. The thermoelectric properties of the film were measured by hot and cold probe method which shows the N-type nature of the film.

Abstract: The diffusers with microlens arrays and V-cut micro structures of LED light were designed in this paper. Based on the theory of non-linear ray tracing, optical properties of the diffusers with three different micro structures were simulated by Lighttools. The three different structures are diffuser with non-structures, diffuser with 0.4mm in diameter microlens arrays and diffuser with V-cut which groove width is 0.4mm and the material of the diffusers was PP (polypropylene). Three types of diffusers were fabricated by extrusion rolling method and their transmittance and uniformity were tested. The simulation showed that diffuser with V-cut micro structures had the best transmittance and uniformity. The experiment showed that the diffusers produced by extrusion rolling method had perfect reprint effect. The simulation results and experiment results had much consistency in transmittance and uniformity. This research is helpful to solve the non-uniform luminescence and glare problems of the LED light.

Abstract: In this paper, the relations between scattering intensity and the radius of scattering particles, the refractive and the wavelength have been studied based on the MATLAB software, and the relations between the concentration of the particles, the radius and the refractive and the optical properties of diffuser have also been simulated by the Light Tools software based on the Monte-Carlo Method. The results show that with the increasing of radius and the wavelength, the distribution of scattering light energy gets concentrated. With the increasing of the particles, the transmittance decreases, and the uniformity increases first and decreases later. With the increasing of radius, the transmittance decreases. With the increasing of the index of refractive, the transmittance increases first and decreases later.

Abstract: In this paper, we investigated the influence of the temperatureand the initial concentrations of malonic acid on the transmittance self-oscillation for a novel nonthermoresponsivepolymer chain. The amplitude of the self-oscillation hardly changes while change in the temperature and the concentration of malonic acid. The period of the self-oscillation does not decrease with increase in the concentration of malonic acid at 14, 16 and 18 °C.

Abstract: In this paper, we investigated the effect ofthetemperatureand the initial concentration of sodium bromateon the soluble-insoluble self-oscillation of a nonthermoresponsiveself-oscillatingpolymer chain. The polymer chain consisted of Acrylamide (AM) main-chain covalently bonded to Ru (bpy)3as a catalyst of the Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction. The amplitude of the transmittance self-oscillation is hardly affected by the concentration of sodium bromate and the temperature.

Abstract: Abstract. Using the radio frequency reactive magnetron sputtering technique, ZnO and Al-dopped ZnO thin films were fabricated on glass substrate by changing the Ar/O2 ratio and substrate temperature. The film crystallinity、optical properties and surface morphology were investigated by X-ray diffraction、 UV - visible spectrophotometer and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The XRD results showed that by changing the argon oxygen ratio, Al-dopped ZnO films deposited at sputtering power of 40W and room temperature for 1 hour sputtering time showed no significant peaks, suggesting that the film growth was amorphous. UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 400nm wavelength test showed less than 90% light transmission rate. When substrate temperature was increased to 200 ° C, significant (002) diffraction peak and transmittance of 88% or more in the 400 ~ 800nm wavelength range appeared. A minimum XRD diffraction peak FWHM was found at substrate temperature of 300 ° C. TEM showed well crystal growth with maximum grain size at 300 ° C, XRD showed that there are only (101) peaks ,no (002) peaks in Al- doped ZnO.

Abstract: Nanocrystalline ZnS thin films were deposited on glass substrates at 300W and 0.6Pa by using radio frequency magnetron sputtering, and then annealed at different temperatures. This work investigated the influence of ZnS buffer layer on different annealing temperature, analysed structural, surface topography, and optical properties of ZnS films by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-spectroscopy measurements and scanning electronic microscope (SEM) analysis techniques. Findings showed that the film annealed at 300°C was uniformity and compact, which was zinc blende cubic structure. The film exhibited the optical transparency as high as 85% in the visible region, and its optical band gap was calculated to be 3.56 eV.
