Abstract:Aimed at main factors influencing the safety of super-large deep foundation pit, a safety monitoring system combined with technologies of modern compute, network, image-video transmission and GPS satellite positioning was designed in this paper.
Monitoring project and frequency of deep foundation pit.Deep foundation pit monitoring mainly focuses on stress and deformation of foundation pit, land settlement and shifting of neighboring environment[2][4] according to engineering standards such as monitoring technology standard (GB50497-2009) of foundation pit building project, engineering measurement standard(GB50026-2007),construction requirements and engineering experiences.
The system has favorable social and economic benefits which can reduce the occurrence of foundation accident by directing foundation pit construction using stress and deformation data measured on-site, and then provide practical engineering experiences for foundation pit construction in the future.

Abstract: The intrinsic complexity of granular materials stems from the fact that the characterizing variables at the micro-scale and the macro-scale are of different nature.
While DEM offers numerous microscopic information at particle-scale (e.g. contact force, contact displacement, etc.), the general interests on engineering side has always been the macro-scale behaviors, generally expressed as stress and strain.
