A viable solution for these wastes is their incorporation in concrete for civil construction, as long as they have pozzolanic activity.
Introduction The fired-clay ceramic industry for civil construction products in Brazil has been following the country’s development with an increasing growth, which includes exportation to other countries.
A possibility still to be investigated is the addition of the specific ashes and grog wastes from a clay industry into structural concretes for civil construction.

One week after the earthquake, on 14th April 09, the on-site inspections started from churches located in the historic centre of L'Aquila and the surrounding areas, with the collaboration of the structural engineers from Universities participating in the ReLUIS network (Italian Laboratories University Network of Seismic Engineering).
This process involves three principal figures: an officer from the Cultural Heritage Authority, a structural engineer, and a team of operating Fire Brigade men.
Thereafter, the structural engineers could elaborate first project drafts, to be discussed in daily meetings at the operational core of the Fire Brigade (N.C.P., nucleus for the coordination of provisional interventions), with the engineers of the Corp and an officer of the Cultural Heritage Authority.

Abstract.
With the rapid development of economy and the civil engineering discipline, the seismic performance of existing masonry wall can't satisfy the codes and regional seismic requirements.
It has engineering sense for the strengthening work.
This paper uses a finite element software- abaqus to analyze these two methods of strengthening masonry walls with constructional column, and make a comparison with the original wall to verify the feasibility and engineering practical value of the methods.
