Hocke et al. name materials as the fundament of technological development and highlight that material science is no longer driven by pure scientific research, rather by market demands and new enabling technologies [4].
This article therefore considers how facts and expert knowledge in the context of material science development might be handled in a way, which reduces this loss of knowledge and furthers the development of innovative and especially sustainable materials.
Materials of other categories are sorted in another way.

Elastohydrodynamic Analysis of an Offset Journal Bearing Lubricated with Couple Stress Fluid B.
Chetti Institute of Sciences and Technology, Center University of Khemis Miliana, Ain Defla, ALGERIA b.chetti@gmail.com [Date received: 12 April 2010.
It is found that, the static characteristics of journal bearings lubricated with couple stress fluids are improved compared to journal bearings lubricated with Newtonian fluids.
Of the various non-circular journal bearings, offset journal bearing is considered quite attractive owing to its relative ease of manufacture.
