Using constitutive equations of piezoelectric materials and an equation of the plate’s motion a matrix of characteristics of the system was obtained.
Research in this area concern the reliability of machines, increasing the speed and range of displacement and applications of new materials.
Piezoelectric materials can be described by a pair of constitutive equations that describe relations between electrical and mechanical properties.
Especially nowadays, when a significant increase of applications of smart materials is observed in modern technical devices.

An implementation method of the virtual crack closure technique (VCCT) for fracture problems of non-homogeneous materials such as functionally graded materials (FGMs) with commercial finite element software ABAQUSTM is introduced in this paper.
The commercial software ABAQUSTM has the ability to analyze the non-homogeneous materials by setting the material properties at the element integral points equal to the real material properties though the user subroutine UMAT.

Conventional flow behaviours of materials implemented in commercial finite element (FE) software are not capable of describing accurately the material behaviour after localization.
Moreover, it should be pointed out that the validity of these methods was studied only for isotropic materials and may not be applicable for anisotropic materials.
