Nomograms for determination of effective length of the unregular frames based on mechanics and steel structure Zhang Datian1 , Zhou Donghua 2 Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, Kunming University of Science and Technology 1624214140@qq.com 2stahlverbundbau@aliyun.com Key words: Effective length factor; Frame column; The second-order displacement method; The chart method Abstract: Determining the frame column effective length is a key part of the structure stability calculation in practical engineering.
Introduction The determination of effective length of frame column is not avoidable in the engineering design.
Conclusions: Frame columns which have the different axial forces or different height are common occurred in engineering, how to determine the effective length of this kind of structure column, so far there is no corresponding calculation formula and forms in “code for design of steel structures” available , the nomogram derived in this paper can compensate for this situation and has also the following characteristics: 1.

Current researches of material engineering give little investigations on the construction impacts of soil consolidation material property.
Current researches of material engineering give little investigations on the tunneling construction impacts of soil consolidation material property.
Even with recent advances in the method, shield tunneling in soft clayed ground, where the existing buried structures are close to excavation region, is still a major technical challenge for civil engineers.
However, the impacts of soil consolidation on existing buried structures according to the post-construction state are little attention to tunnel engineers.
Therefore, the soil post-construction deformation of the existing structures should be intensively monitored in engineering practice, especially within one year after the construction completion.
