Abstract: In this paper, we perform a 3D finite element analysis for the longitudinal settlement of a shield tunnel in soft soil, where a substratum soil contains a soft layer.
Therefore, theoretical calculations should be used to obtain the longitudinal deformation value, and then carry out appropriate engineering measures to control the deformations, such as setting deformation joint.

Introduction Due to the high safety and less cost of arch dam, it is built all over the world [1], Arch dam is one kind of important dam type, because of material strength’s full display, large load bearing capacity, small body, convenient flood discharge arrangement, potential high safety, perfect earthquake resistance performance and so on; it receives domestic and foreign engineers’ favor.
It can be quickly and simply constructed, uses less concrete per unit, and generates less heat, so engineers pay much attention to it.

Introduction As Computer Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software develops, problems of fluid dynamics becoming interesting for more engineers.
Today’s designers are not limited in shapes of building, so engineers can find them self in situations where they needs to analyze effect of approaching wind in theirs project.
