Keywords: Material science, simulation, particle systems.
Unfortunatelly for the researcher, modern construction technology mostly deals with heterogeneous multi-phase materials – composites, with different matrix materials, fillers, aggregates and admixtures.
The particle system method has numerous applications in material science, and in particular – in construction industry.
It can be seen from that summary that many methods in material science uses stochastic approach on different computational stages.
Determination of the size and volumetric content of the nanoscale modifier is a necessary prerequisite for the application of nanotechnology in materials science.

The muon has some special characteristics which are valuable for material sciences.
Intense pulsed muon beams are available at the RIKEN-RAL for material sciences and more than 380 scientific papers have been published in international journals and more than 100 domestic and international collaborations have been organized from 1994 until now.
Both spectrometers are for material sciences.
Recently, the application of µSR is being expanded to investigate functional materials for industrial purposes.
