Materials
In this study, two widely used polymer materials were used, namely metallocene linear low density polyethylene (m-LLDPE, hereafter referred to as PE) and polypropylene homopolymer (PP), which were obtained from a commercial supplier (RESINEX).
Polymeric materials data, the melt flow index and the density from supplier, the melting temperature from DSC and molecular weight details from GPC.
The β-transition is the major transition in the polymer in general, which is when the materials are going through a glass/rubber transition.

To take the natural differences of geotechnical materials into consideration, reliability analysis of slope stability with Monte-Carlo method was carried out on a slope of deep pit.
Owning to the anisotropy of geotechnical materials, complexity of failure criteria and large scale of projects etc., the traditional solution-limit equilibrium method does not usually reflect the real condition of the project.
The results of reliable analysis considering the differences of natural geotechnical materials match the practice and the traditional method, so the analysis procedure could be considered to adopt to other projects.

For the production of C/C-SiC composites
with a gradient structure of the ceramic matrix - from a carbon matrix in the core to a SiC matrix on
the surface new materials based on C/C composite with SiC nano-particles dispersed in the matrix
were produced.
Introduction Advanced thermo-structural composites such as C/C, C/SiC and SiC/SiC are unique materials that possess excellent properties, such as high specific strength, high toughness and light weight.
The compromise solution is a C/C-SiC composite that unites the good properties of both groups of materials. [2] In the core we have the structure of the C/C composite, which gives the material the desired toughness and elasticity, and on the surface there is a layer C/SiC composite with good abrasion and oxidation resistance and the desired stiffness, which makes this material ideal for the production of brake discs.
