Dear colleagues, I would like to take this opportunity to express my personal view on both the general situation in the country and the status of materials science and engineering in the period between the two Conferences.
The danger and fear of civil war is present.
On the other side, dear colleagues, it is well known that the materials science and engineering in the west are reaching heavenly heights.
