It has been clarified in the GB/J50283-1999 Unified Standard for Reliability Design of Highway Engineering Structures (Hereafter refers to as Highway Uniform Standard) [2] that the design method of probability limit state based on the structure reliability is the general principle, thus it is imperative to establish a new national specification for steel highway bridge.
