Corrosion Rates and Mechanical Properties of Rebar HRB400
Ping Li a
Department of Civil Engineering, Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology, Luoyang 471023, China

Key Words: Rebar HRB400, Corrosion rate, Strength, Elongation
Abstract: The corrosion rates of rebar HRB400 in 0.5 wt.% NaCl solution were measured, and the mechanical properties before and after corrosion were tested.
Nevertheless, with the change of environment and the passage of time, the carbonization of concrete and the inrush of chloride cause the corrosion of rebar at different extent, which leads to the concrete weakening and thereby continuous engineering accidents.
Journal of Zhengzhou University (Engineering Science), Vol. 26 (2005), p. 85 (in Chinese)
