SEM image of porous rods of MgO obtained by decomposition of fibrous Mg(OH)2 calcined at 600 ℃ was shown in Fig. 7, which indicated this MgO powder had a porous rod-like structure with diameter between 20 nm and 80 nm and length to width ratio between 40 to 100.

In contrast with the CMOR of samples before thermal shock test, CMORTS obviously decreased due to resin carbon network structure was destroyed after thermal shock treatment.
