1School of Civil Engineering and Construction, Hubei University Of Technology , wuhan 430068, P.
Therefore, we want to know how much deflection is small enough to satisfy the engineering precision, by applying numerical integration to analysis it.
Numerical results show that the maximum deflection increases rapidly with the slight increase of load, and in the case where, the maximum stress is beyond the proportional limit and the compressed bar will failure in strength not stability, where, the maximum stress is smaller than the proportional limit and the compressed bar will failure in stability, in this case, the load, therefore, the Euler formula of deduced through the approximate equation of curvature evaluate the stability of compressed bar is rather precise and satisfied the demanding of engineering precise.
