Discussion of pile design for high-rise buildings

Abstract.
The engineering data demonstrated that actual measured isoline of settlement is very close to the one calculated.
During optimization process, taking into consideration of specification, construction and engineering experience, one satisfy value can be achieved, which may not be the same value obtain from pure mathematic calculation.

Introduction In the thick filling area engineering, when there is soft soil and its depth is large in the thick filling area, the free pore water in the saturation soil is difficult to discharge in rolling process of the upper subgrade, and the excess pore water pressure comes into being with subgrade increase layer by layer, which lead to disproportionate of increase rate between effective stress in soil particles and additional load on the upper.
