Abstract:The mechanical characteristics of jointed rocks are mainly controlled by geometrical features of intermittent joints.
Introduction It is in common that the shear zone of rock mass is evolved from the strain localization in geotechnical engineering, which symbolizes the instability and hence failure.

The applications of Reinforced concrete in pavement engineering can obviously reduce the thickgess of pavement, improving the pavement performance, reduce the late repair and maintenance cost, but the cost is higher than ordinary concrete pavement, and China is in the stage of research, trial and promotion.
So we thought by doing some experiments to verify whether bamboo can replace steel reinforced in concrete, composed of bamboo reinforced concrete, used in pavement engineering.
