The yield strength , ultimate strength , and elastic modulus E of the three materials were obtained.
The true stress-plastic strain curves of the materials were extended to fracture as shown in Fig. 3.
Results of the 9 uniaxial tensile tests of round bars provide stress-strain data, elastic modulus, strength and ductility of the three materials.
Characteristic lengths of the three materials were obtained from scanning of 9 fracture surfaces.

Two different types of materials are combined: bio-based thermoplastic polymers such as bio-polyethylenes or bio-polyamides and renewable reinforcing materials such as thin wood veneer or unidirectional flax fibers.
However, researches on composites made of exclusively renewable raw materials are less numerous.
Materials The selection criteria of the raw renewable materials are related to the future potential uses of the final products.
