The discussion based on the simulation is verified in the cutting tests for brittle materials.
The die and mold manufacturing has also been used hard materials such as tungsten carbide.
However, when cutting brittle materials, the edge roughness have influence on the surface finish.

The understanding of reloading stress relaxation behavior of structural materials is required for safety designing and maintenance of steam-powered plants.
The steel 12Cr-1Mo-1W-1/4V is used in steam turbine as a high temperature bolting materials.
A reliable prediction of the long-term behavior of materials in dependence on the stress regime and the temperature is a very complex challenge.
