Recently, a number of Ta-based oxides have been used as new photocatalyst materialsbecause of their high activity in the photocatalytic splitting of H2O into H2 and O2 [3,4].
Despite these successes, a number of key parameters that determine the photocatalytic activity remain unclear.
However, this type of reaction requires high temperatures and long calcinations, which lead to grain growth (i.e., smaller surface area) and loss of stoichiometry of the products.
