Based on meteorological observation data and environmental monitoring data of Changsha in the period from 1970 to 2012, this paper analyzes the distribution characteristics and import factors of the haze weather in Changsha.
During the period from 1970 to 1977, there were no haze days; during the period from 1978 to 1986, the haze days increased year by year, but the annual haze days were all below ten days; during the period from 1987 to 1999, the haze days continued to increase, and the averagely annual haze days were more than 30 days; in 2000, the haze days reduced sharply from 33.5 days/year in 1999 to 17 days/year, reducing by half, in this stage the economic development was stable, and the environmental protection measures were standardized and perfected gradually, being important factors of reduction of haze days; during the period from 2001 to 2012, the haze days increased sharply, in 2011 the haze days reached 129 days, in 2012 they were 97.5 days, and this situation has direct relationships with the rapid development of economy, the expansion of urban construction scale and the increase of motor vehicle population.
