On account of the relative complexity of the architecture of composite materials and their failure patterns in comparison with those of monotonic materials, nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods are more highly desirable than others for the inspection and characterization of such materials.
Conclusions AE method is a useful tool for monitoring damage progression during loading of materials.
