The silicone suitable for an octopus-like arm is chosen (ECOFLEXTM series 00–30, Smooth-On, Inc.), which has the mechanical properties that is comparable to the octopus arm[1~4].The mechanical properties of silicone is showed in Table 1, including mass density, elastic modulus and poisson ratio, which was applied as the basic parameters to calculate and simulate.

PUs are utilized in a variety of industrial parts, building materials, sports goods, medical equipments, adhesives and coatings [3-5].
Experimental Materials The poly (tetra ethylene) glycols (PTMG) () were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and hydroxyl group number determination.
A visual scale was used to compare test liquids and materials: 10 (no effect), 8 (light haze), 6 (softening), 4 (cracks), 2 (heavily damaged), 0 (film completely solubilized).
Acid, base, and water do not any damage to fluorinated materials, which shows a fairly good resistance to these chemicals.
In addition, the superior performance of fluorinated materials is evident when the resistance to other solvents was measured.

Living things obtain and use materials and energy.
Organisms use a constant supply of materials and energy to grow, develop, reproduce, and stay alive.
All organisms get the material they need from their surroundings, or environment.
