A Vision-based Gap Detection Method during the Placement of Large-scale Composite Structures The work is subsidized by Natural Science Fund of Jiangsu – model predictable on-line detection in automatic fiber placement for composite materials (BK2008401).
Introduction Advanced composite materials such as carbon fibers (CF) and boron fibers (BF) have much good properties in civil aircraft [1].
Pat.No.5562788 [4] discloses a method of and apparatus for detecting flaws in composite materials after they are placed on a substrate by an imaging system including a laser analog displacement sensor.
During the placement, as the materials of substrates among adjacent layers are same, the feature of gap is not clear or stable when acquiring the surface image using common methods.

To make the model more in line with the actual operation conditions, add materials of various shapes in the crushing chamber, the materials are extruded by movable jaw and the inter-extruded materials.
Because the materials exist in the model, there were sudden jitters in the case of the basic law of the acceleration of the movable jaw, this is due to the impact of the materials on the movable jaw plate.

Due to their mechanical and chemical wear resistance ionic-covalently-bonded materials such as transition metal carbides [8] and transition metal aluminum nitrides [9-11] are promising candidates for wear resistant applications.

In this session, a general stress modelling was developed based on the following basic assumptions: (1) materials involved, including pure metals and their solid solution, were isotropic and linearly elastic [14], (2) temperature was constant during the interdiffusion of materials, and (3) interdiffusion of materials resulted in solid solution only.
Therefore, this quantity could be estimated from its chemical compositions and the CTEs of pure materials.
