Ironically the Kwanar Are reservoir has been used for both irrigation and civil engineering construction works for over two decades.
The study is therefore intended to examine the quality of the reservoir to establish its suitability for civil engineering construction works.
However the quality of the reservoir seem to be good for civil engineering construction and other uses, but close and frequent monitoring of the reservoir is necessary especially in early December before the commencement of irrigation activity and in the second week of March when the irigation activity is about to fold off.
Conclusion Although the quality of water in the reservoir appears to be good, there is an urgent need to monitor it frequently such that it does not get influenced by the irrigation activity hence polluting it thereby making it threat to civil engineering construction works ultimately contribute to the recurring cases of building collapse in the country as reported in recent times.

Adopting MIDAS/CIVIL 2012 finite element software, which are based on the beam element on the finite element model, calculate the inner force during construction.
After analyzing the connection in the practical engineering carefully, we applied the corresponding constraint to the connected border between the six steel box girder bridge and the main pier.
