The decrease in frequency for different rates of loading shows the loss of stiffness for all materials studied.
Although the damping of composite materials is not very high; it is significantly higher than that measured for most usual metallic materials.
Viscoelastic materials combine the capacity of an elastic type material to store energy with the capacity to dissipate energy.
The analysis derived the strain energy stored in the different materials.
