Because of its economic implications, the problem of water movement in porous building materials has received great attention of physicists and engineers.
The experimental tests showed that for building materials the extended Darcy model, a non-linear diffusion equation, provide a satisfactory engineering macro-description of an unsaturated flow.

Study and Application of Tidal River Flow-sediment Mathematical Model Hong Chen Civil engineering college, Fuzhou University, Fuzhou, Fujian, China hchen488@sohu.com Keywords: tidal river; tide; sediment transport; mathematical model Abstract.
Although 2-D model cannot reflect some 3-D characteristics and so precision is reduced, it made reduce computation amount and time greatly and it can meet practical engineering needs.
In this sense, 2-d flow-sediment numerical simulation appears particularly important in engineering application. 2, Regional Situation Minjiang River, with 577km in total length and 60992 km2 in basin area, is the largest river in fujian province and its area is about one half Fujian Province, originating in Fujian and Jiangxi border and flowing through 35 counties of the northern Fujian province and two of Zhejiang.
