Test on the Performance of Road Base-Course Made of Steel Slag and Fly Ash Zhanyou Yana, Yu Shu b, Jianqing Buc , Xiangguo Lid School of Civil Engineering, Shijiazhuang Railway Institute, Shijiazhuang, Hebei, 050043,China ayanzhanyou@163.com, b13803116251@139.com, cbujq2004@163.com,dlxg7936636@sina.com Keywords: Compaction properties; Unconfined compressive strength; Resilient Modulus; Splitting tensile strength Abstract: Fly-ash is an industrial waste burning pulverize coal boilers for thermal power plant and large enterprises, the steel slag is too a residue generated waste in steelmaking industrial processes, the average for every ton steel to produce half ton steel slag, steel slag and fly ash discharge amounts is very big, utilization ratio is very low.
Engineering situation Shijiazhuang city has large number steel slag and fly-ash resources, if steel slag and fly-ash instead of commonly pavement base materials can not only save a large number of project cost but also reduce the natural stone exploitation to protect environmental benefits.
At last, this paper make feasibility study at preliminary stage for steel slag and fly-ash on road engineering pavement base materials.

Steel Beam-to-Column Connections Using Martensite Shape Memory Alloys Zhenyu Wu1, a, Xiaohui He1, b and Yaochun Zhang1 1 School of Civil Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, 150090, China a wuzhenyu@hit.edu.cn , b netboyhxh@163.com Keywords: Beam-to-column connection; Steel; Ni-Ti SMA; Threaded rod; Cyclic test.
Ni-Ti shape memory alloy (SMA) is the special one of the new functional materials with shape memory effect (SME) and superelasticity (SE), and has very good prospects in seismic engineering structures owing to its large recoverable strain (up to 6%~8%), good fatigue properties and corrosion resistance [1].
Of course, the cost of SMA is still the key factor controlling the prospect in seismic engineering and has to be resolved.
