Wear mechanism of the coatings is oxidation wear and a large amount of counterpart material is transferred to the coatings.
Therefore, material removed by oxidation wear is less and vice versa.

When the stress level exceeds the elastic limit of materials, the material layer engendered the irreversible plastic deformation, which led to the fracture destruction of materials.
