Introduction

Design engineers need more comprehensive description of rock mass in terms engineering parameters from the geologists.

In order to enable a mini-UAV to perform target acquisition, localization and continuous surveillance in real world environment one must develop a technology which may be a combination of aircraft engineering, control systems, and wireless communication.
Due to their capability to be hand launched and their portability fixed wing mini-UAVs are becoming a popular choice for civil and military applications such as fire ground (active bushfire) surveillance [2], crop and vegetation surveying [3], emergency data communications, and maintaining the security of people and assets against terrorist related threats [4].
