However, it is difficult for an engineer engaged in the maintenance of bridges to perform a detailed investigation for analyzing the safety and soundness of the bridges on a daily basis because there are many aspects that require maintenance.
They include (1) properties based on geological river topography, (2) properties based on river engineering and hydraulics, and (3) properties based on the structure of bridges and scour.
However, information of these parameters may not be disclosed to almost all rivers in Japan, and it is difficult for engineers engaged in maintenance to obtain accurate information.
From these results, the developed model generally reproduced the engineering knowledge that the damage risk increased as hi increases and dsi decreases.

However, these methods have a lot of difficulties in engineering application as these methods exist many problems such as they are mostly based on theoretical analysis, model test and simulation analysis.
In fact, in practical engineering, current methods still suffer from the same problems in judging damage existence and degree which play a very important role in structural heath monitoring.
However, using the chaotic sequence as excitation source in actual civil engineering structure is almost impossible, so the response under ambient excitation or impulse excitation must be studied.
