Comparative Study on the Earthquake-proofing Performance of Chinese and Japanese Building Structures Yudong Wang1, Wenshuai Zhang1 1College of Resources and Civil Engineering ,Northeastern University,Shenyang,Liaoning, 110004 China wangyudong_111@163.com Keywords: Earthquake-proofing; Building Structure; Standards; New Materials; New Technologies Abstract: In recent years, there were frequent earthquakes happening in China.
The national standards such as the "standards for the classification of the building engineering earthquake-proofing settings" and the "regulations for the planning and management of the urban earthquake-proofing and disaster-prevention" have been implemented in China, so as to carry out the classification of earthquake proofing and prevention, the division of the responsibilities as well as the disaster-prevention planning.
Based on this example, it can be obviously learnt that China can introduce this way and then apply the advanced theory into the practical engineering according to the actual conditions of China.

The Technological Study of Surface Permeable Protection Materials for Fair Faced Concrete ZHANG Yan1,2,WANG Qicai1,SU Xiaojing2 1.School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Lanzhou Jiao tong University, Gansu Lanzhou 730070, China 2.
School of Materials Science & Engineering,Southwest University of Science and Technology,Sichuan Mianyang 621010, China Keywords: Fair faced Concrete;Durability;Protective Coating;Surface Abstract: Fair faced concrete is currently a new kind of construction manifestation fusing Oriental Zen thought of “imitation of nature”, obtaining applications in many buildings, but it will appear the phenomenon of water veneer degradation and damage without surface protection.
Since fair faced concrete doesn’t take patching and painting protection of later period, it’s extremely easy to absorb water and harmful ions in the environment, which will cause erosion leading to degradation and damage of fair-faced veneer when exposed in nature, easily resulting in water absorption, pollution and common deterioration phenomena such as reinforced corrosion, frozen-thaw cycle, and sulfate erosion, and alkali-aggregate reaction, etc [1] to cause major hidden danger and economic loss of engineering.
