State-of-the-art for Experimental Studies on the Mechanical Behavior of FRP-confined Concrete Wenbin Suna, Jianlin Wangb 1School of Civil Engineering, Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Jiangsu 223001China asunwb@mail.hyit.edu.cn, bWangjl@mail.hyit.edu.cn Keywords: FRP-confined concrete; confinement parameter; mechanical behavior; experimental study; Abstract.
The high material modulus and tensile strength, automated fabrication, and engineered performance of FRP composites offer greater material efficiency and ease of application.
Since no direct chemical bond applied in between the tube and concrete, desired loading pattern of the composites elements can be engineered during the prefabrication of the tubes.

Compared with developed countries, China has gradually matured in anaerobic digestion technology of biogas engineering, and achieved international advanced level in anaerobic fermentation, engineering construction, etc.
In 2009, the Ministry of Agriculture organized relevant research institutions and enterprises to conduct 16 demonstration engineering constructions of straw biogas in 12 provinces (autonomous regions).
At present, biomass solid fuel that China developed contains particles, block, bar, etc, which are mainly applied in civil cooking heating, commercial food and bathing, industrial boilers and power generation ,etc.

Reduction of Firing Temperature by Utilization of Secondary Materials for the Synthesis of Forsterite Ceramics NGUYEN Martin1,a* and SOKOLÁŘ Radomír1,b 1Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Institute of Technology of Building Materials and Components, Veveří 331/95, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic a*nguyen.m@fce.vutbr.cz, bsokolar.r@fce.vutbr.cz Keywords: Forsterite; spinel; synthesis; firing temperature; microstructure.
Introduction Forsterite ceramics (2MgO·SiO2) is a type of refractory ceramics used primarily in the cement and lime industries as a lining of rotary kiln and also in the metallurgical industry also as a lining of furnaces, regenerators, ladles etc. [1, 2] The melting point of pure forsterite is 1890°C and its refractoriness is above 1850°C. [2] The similarity between thermal expansion coefficient of forsterite and metals also allows its utilization in the electrotechnical engineering as a ceramic-metal joints. [3] Refractory spinel ceramics (MgO·Al2O3) are another type of refractory ceramics utilized as a refractory lining due to its high melting point of 2135°C, thermal shock resistance and chemical and corrosion resistance. [4, 5] The usual firing temperatures for the synthesis of forsterite of spinel ceramics are often between 1600-1750°C which make their firing process a major expense in the production process. This means that military, aerospace structural, civil protection and nuclear fields are involved in this kind of problem (e.g. [1, 2]).
A reverse engineering approach is used in order to obtain, at the same time, the parameters of both the strength and the failure models, based on the experimental data in which the failure occurs.
