Yet another area where specially engineered polymer concrete can find major application in metropolitan areas, pertains to bus shelters in the immediate vicinity of urban electric substations.
Fish and other marine life kill because of elevated water temperature from cooling -related thermal transfer in the run-off in the vicinity of the plant, the inadequacy of infrastructure and plans for evacuation in the wake of a major accident in the plant, security, civil and criminal liability issues pertaining to the technology and parts suppliers, etc, are among these concerns; however, perhaps the most important one , which has not been widely aired or discussed pertains to potential serious health issues for children growing up over a period of time within a certain radius of the power plant.
These materials singly and jointly, and in some cases, in combination with geopolymer-bound high performance hydraulic cement concrete can be engineered, with the assurance of a high degree of reliability, to serve in the management of low level waste, high level waste and also in the various structural/containment vessels.
