It can improve the nature of the material.
Due to the presence of O2 in air, an oxidation layer is very easy formed on the surface of these materials.
In fact, the O-bonds on the surface of the materials seem to be replaced, at least partly, by S-bonds after sulfur passivation[17].

This paper deals with a new surface finishing method of electrically conductive diamond materials by making efficient use of an electrically conductive nature of the workpiece material, instead of conventional methods such as grinding, lapping and polishing using diamond abrasives.
Based on these concepts, electrolytic machining experiments were conducted on the electrically conductive diamond materials.
Introduction In volume machining of materials such as high silicon aluminum alloys, cutting tools coated with CVD diamond films (Fig. 1(a)) are widely used.
This work was partly supported by Osawa Scientific Studies Grants Foundation and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), No.24560140).

This technique has proven to be especially suitable for the production of presentation models, due to the low cost of materials and the possibility to produce color-models.
The infiltrate used in this process differs significantly from materials traditionally used for infiltration.
Secondly, the user can also select from a large variety of materials to be processed.
A comparison of costs for materials by Kim et al. shows that the material cost in laser sintering are approximately 10-times the cost of 3D-printing [7].
Both aluminum AlMg3 (EN AW-5754, 3.3535) and deep drawing steel DC03 (EN 10139, 1.0347) were used as forming materials.

The majority of methods in this area take their origin from the observation that fatigue damaged materials often behave like mesoscopic nonlinear materials (e.g. rocks) in which nonlinear phenomena have been observed for years.
As a result damaged metallic materials behave as mesoscopic elastic materials when elastic wave propagation is investigated.
It is well known that when damaged materials undergo tension/compression cycles, crack lips move.
