With the developments of the computer science and CFD software itself, CFD has been applied into every field in engineering which can save the cost and time of research.
Compared with the actual experiment, the CFD simulation technology can save a large number of testing time.
In addition, the application of the CFD simulation technology does not need the actual model to reduce the testing cost.

Results and Analysis The result of CFD simulations for pressure distributions at the design 20º pitch angle are showed in Fig. 2.
The results of the CFD simulation are compared with the results of a set of experimental tests for MCT model at a designed blade pitch angles 20° as shown in Fig. 3.
For TSR > 6 both simulations tend to over predict the power coefficients.
Summary A comparison with the experimental results and other simulation results shows the applicability of using CFD as the tools to predict the hydrodynamic performance of horizontal axis MCT.
The agreement between all experiments and predictions was demonstrated for the design case at blade pitch angle 20º.The accuracy of the predictions is satisfactory for using the CFD simulation techniques to design the MCT.
