Such a combination of properties of hydrogels determines a wide range of application scope - from technical fields (sorbents, gas separation and ion-exchange membranes) to the food industry and medicine (structure formers of food products, drug delivery systems, artificial substitutes for biological tissues, materials for soft and intraocular lenses, etc.). [1].
The absence of the latter is a mandatory requirement for materials used in tissue engineering, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical engineering as dressings for wounds of various etymologies, implants and polymer injection systems [2].
The high interest of researchers in biopolymers is also due to economic factors: low cost of their production, environmental friendliness and a variety of rich raw materials.
Chitosan (an aminopolysaccharide, poly(2-amino-2-deoxy-β-D-glucan), a product of chitin deacetylation), is one of the most promising in practical terms polymers obtained from constantly renewable raw materials [4].
