Abstract: In this paper, we combine the characteristics of acoustic emission detection with the present condition of truck rolling bearing’s fault detection ,adopting the acoustic emission technique to examine railway freight car ’s journal bearing inner ring looseness .We put forward the method which wavelet packet analyze and withdraw bearing acoustic emission signal’s feature vector.
Acoustic emission technique is a dynamic detection method, which can get materials’ important information, fatigue crack propagation, under the dynamic loading conditions.
The bearing inner ring’s looseness is not bearings’ internal defects, but has the relation to the metal wearing between bearing inner ring and bearing journal[1]. in this paper, we adopt the acoustic emission technology to make a preliminary research and analysis of the bearing inner ring’s loose defect.
In the process of wearing, through the materials ’structure and phase change, the acoustic emission cooperates with superficial impact’s micro-process, rub belt’s damage, the expanding micro-cracks and wear debris’s transfer in the superficial layer.

Abstract.
Direct tension experiments of brittle materials with surface crack have been carried out.
But surface and internal cracks were confronted in most cases their fracture criterion ere studied few and most pointed at metal materials.
Therefore based on experimental results and numerical simulation, surface crack growth was studied and a revised fracture criterion fit for brittle materials was presented.
